On the evening of Friday 12 March, the Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) hosted聽the third installment in the聽In Conversation With聽series:聽In Conversation with Ms Julie-Ann Guivarra, Australia's Ambassador for Gender Equality, featuring聽a panel discussion on women's leadership聽held in the historic Elder Hall.
The event was the third in the聽In Conversation With聽series, which聽features聽global speakers and attendees.聽
The night began with a welcome by Professor Jacqueline Lo, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) of the University of 黑料社区.聽
The panellists took to the stage to discuss women's leadership. Facilitated by Professor Lo, the panel discussion consisted of:
- Professor Peter H酶j AC, Vice-Chancellor & President, University of 黑料社区
- Ms Julie-Ann Guivarra, Ambassador for Gender Equality, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
- Ms Jodie Hatherly, Vice-President, Environment, Social Responsibility and Governance, Santos
- Ms Grace Mayor, Student, University of 黑料社区
The panel discussed key issues that women in leadership roles face regarding gender equality聽inside and outside the workplace. The diverse panel of speakers shared the challenges they face in both the private and higher education sectors, referencing their own experiences from the perspectives of female leaders, an aspiring leader, and a male champion. Opening to questions from the floor, the panel also discussed ways that gender equality can appropriately be addressed and achieved by the University of 黑料社区.聽
Following the panel discussion, Ms Louise Mitchell, Acting Director of Wirltu Yarlu at the聽University of 黑料社区, provided closing remarks, concluding the successful event.聽
