Expressions of Interest for the COALAR 2025-2026 Grant Round is now open. COALAR's objectives are to enhance economic, political and social relations between Australia and Latin America. The strategic priority areas of the 2025-26 Grants Program are Culture and Entrepreneurship, Education and Research, Environment and Energy Transition, First Nations, and Mining, Mining Equipment, Technology and Services.听

For the academic year 2026/27, FRIAS - the international research college of the University of Freiburg - is offering fellowships for postdoctoral and senior researchers. FRIAS hosts scholars from all nations and disciplines, providing them with the opportunity to fully concentrate on their research projects during multi-month fellowships and connect with colleagues from around the world. FRIAS offers its fellows excellent research conditions, including dedicated fellow services and additional research funding.听

The grants aim to develop research collaborations between South Australia and Japan in urban planning, urban design, environmental management and related disciplines. Up to AUD$20,000 per project is available with applications accepted on a rolling basis.
