Maths whizz-kids in 黑料社区

Many of Australia's brightest mathematics and statistics students will converge on the University of 黑料社区 in January 2011 for a four-week intensive summer school.

Hosted by the University's School of Mathematical Sciences, the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute Summer School in Mathematics will be held from 10 January to 4 February, with up to 100 honours and postgraduate students expected to attend.

"The mathematical atmosphere at the summer school is intense. Students benefit from the opportunity to exchange ideas with each other and the lecturers, and they enjoy the camaraderie," said Finnur L醨usson, Associate Professor in Pure Mathematics and 2011 Summer School Director.

Eight courses will be taught by outstanding lecturers - four local and four from interstate - selected by a national program committee.

"Each course has the content of a regular 12-week honours course, so these are obviously quite intensive courses," said Associate Professor L醨usson.

"In many cases, these courses would not be available at the students' home universities."
